    Power is available but we don't have any immediate plans to tap into it. We will reconsider that when we build a permanent residence on the property. Our energy needs at the property are minimal and we are very comfortable at this level of convenience and simplicity.

    As for sanitation we are currently using a composting system - most importantly, the wife is OK with it... The soils there are well suited for a gravity septic system and it is an option we may exercise in the future.

  6. We have Columbia Ground Squirrels that love to torment her. They dive in their holes and Yarrow starts digging. They emerge from a nearby hole - I think to laugh at her.

  7. what part of eastern wa are you in. it looks as if you are at the canadian border. so so beautiful. i live in southwest wa and its a dream to live up in north central wa.
