Introducing Jasie

Dogs reveal the expansiveness of the Heart.  Even with the recent heartache of losing Kirby I find myself once again Puppy Whipped.

I'd like to introduce you to Jasie.  100% pure Chocadile.

Who could resist this?

It is with great sorrow that I am reporting the death of Kirby, our beloved family member and loyal dog to the end.  It was difficult but less difficult than watching her suffer.  14-1/2 wonderful years.  It goes by way too fast.

Founding member of the Kirby Creek Outfit.  Loved family member.  Most bestest Dog ever.  Never tangled with snakes, skunks or porcupines.  Loved to be wet.  Enthusiastic eater and retriever.  Bed hog.  Constantly wagging tail.  If the Lord needs a new Angel, Kirby is well qualified.

Can't wait to get back!

Fall is my favorite time to be at the Yonderosa.  It's hard to believe this journey is already four years along.  There is plenty yet to do.  Progress has been suspended but we're adjusting to this new economy and its challenges.

LOTS of these guys on the critter cams this month

The "table" was added a few months back.  In its original configuration it had legs, a foot rest and drawers.  As is often the case, simple is best and most functional.

A 16" Douglas Fir plank I bought from the sawyer.  Sanded just enough to remove the splinters and then champfered the edge.  Simple, rustic and useful.  The perfect place to enjoy a beverage and a view.

On the way home this little guy walked out of the bushes twenty yards ahead of us.  Eventually I got the pups settled down and got a picture.  About that time I realized his mommy might be close by too (based on the size of the scat in the parking lot) and chose to retreat rather than take more pictures.

New Neighbor

This female was collared not far from the Yonderosa.  She weighed in 104 pounds.  It is believed that she belongs to a pack to the east of us.

I hope the baby Moose are doing OK

Here's a long overdue update.  All I can say is the residents of the Yonderosa have been busy.

This camera was set just 110 yards from the Cabin.  I think it's a good spot.  Might have to move the others into this area too.

Aren't baby Mooses the best?

Yonderosa 2011 video

Just some pictures from 2011

New fangled moving pictures

I've been missing the Yonderosa something fierce lately.  Looked at some moving pictures I took last year and figured out how to share em with y'all.

Santa brung some Snowshoes fer me to use at the Yonderosa but I've been making good use of em around here.  Winter arrived a bit late but has more than made up for it in a very short time.
